The Arizona Department of Health has gone through great lenghts at ensuring that patients that are authorized to use medical marijuana to treat their condition(s) are informed and protected.  This is accomplished in part by setting and strictly enforcing procedures that all Arizona dispensary operations must adhere to in order to conduct business.

What people often refer to as crystals in and around the bud are in fact trichomes which are outgrowths or glandular appendages that contain forms or levels of cannabinoids, the most common being THC.  When to harvest a marijuana plant that is grown to provide a specific effect when injested, may be determined by the state of its trichomes.
